"but if i could breathe a rainbow" i'd roar like sky arch inhale the whole world a spell of blankets, cozy and warm to hold us past deepest nights watching longer sunrises transform furl wisp billow up like an oversized soap bubble glistening translucence in the rays wind lifting fringes this biggest fabric and the hands of my holding or the holding of your hands float softly down onto vastly growing fields wildflowers sprouting tall rolling endless, to all edges of sight the corners of your eyes dried now and closing as we drop gently lay beside each other our backs on the vast knitting a picnic meeting ground i promise, if i could breathe a rainbow i'd exhale everything for you
a whole lot in the world is horrid. and we keep finding/holding onto small and big awe, no? onto how beautiful refraction can be. onto remembering wonder. remind me, what does this line from Alexis Pauline Gumbs bring up in you my sweet rainbow breathing being?
also im deeply grateful, still dreaming and reveling in seeing Alexis read in real life, live, after the incredible performance of The Healing Project (by Samora Pinderhughes), followed in chronologic clock-time by hearing Mayyadda and rum.gold. truly wow, music is such a gift!

If I could inhale a rainbow I’d arc in pleasure until I came full circle/I’d roll around the world beaming joy/everywhere
